the story
My husband deserves all the credit.
I am generally a positive person who finds it pretty natural to be grateful. But what I am guilty of? Waiting for the other shoe to drop when things are good.
One day, I was worrying myself with a bunch of what if's, and my husband, Dan, said, "Karla, you should try sitting in the honey." I immediately was flooded with an image of sitting in my blessings, soaking in their sweetness, and shifting my focus from what if to what is. What wise encouragement.
This is about my journey of making it daily practice
to look for the
good,
go after the
joy, and
sit in the
honey. I would love for you to join me.
so what will you find here?
What's capturing my attention?
"Jack of all trades, master of none." That's me. I have so many interests, but no real expertise. I am also a walking oxymoron.
I studied marriage and family therapy, but I work in corporate America. I can't draw, paint, or sew, but I have a knack for good lighting and furniture decisions. I have three kids and a husband, and all of that happened after the age of 34 when I had fully accepted a life of singleness and experienced way too many failed relationships. I love a good deal, but when I buy, I have a "buy once, cry once" mentality. My faith is the most important thing about me, and yet, I have lived so many of my years like I did not know the Lord. I love reading, and yet, I have a terrible track record of not finishing books.
You get the idea.
This blog and this brand is really a collection of seemingly disconnected, insignificant things that have one thing in common: learning about them brings me life, even if just for a season.
This is a space where I capture what's capturing my attention.
"But you would be fed ...
with honey from the rock I would satisfy you."
Psalms 81:16
Sit in the honey with me.
I would love to hear from you.
